In 1982, Pastor Thel Bringas launched New Life Calvary Chapel in Los Angeles in a home that became known as the House on Gramercy Place.   The church started when a whole Los Angeles gang chose to disband the gang in order to follow Christ.

NEW LIFE FULL GOSPEL


OCTOBER 1985
New Life Calvary Chapel becomes New Life Full Gospel as it merges into a new location in Mar Vista, California.  The years at Mar Vista were marked by a distinct outpouring of the Holy Spirit in which youth and children experienced transformed lives because of an ongoing encounter with God’s presence.

FEBRUARY 1994

New Life returns to its Foursquare roots and becomes a Foursquare church. In the process of transition, Pastor Thel starts a church in Cerritos called Lifestream Worship Center. 

OCTOBER 1997
Lifestream moves from Artesia/Cerritos four miles south to the City of Norwalk.  A thriving congregation is established with a passion for serving God through worship and the arts.

JULY 2003

Lifestream Norwalk launches its first daughter church, Lifestream Southbay, in Carson, California pastored by Ken Bringas. 

NEW LIFE CENTER

EASTER 2005

Lifestream Southbay merges with Gateway Fellowship in Harbor City, CA and becomes New Life Center.  

ONE CHURCH TWO LOCATIONS

SEPTEMBER 2011

Pastor Thel retires from over 30 years of pastoral ministry since the founding of New Life and Lifestream. A beautiful celebration is held on his 
70th birthday to honor his many years of service to the Lord.


JANUARY 2012

The convergence of all of these streams of unique history and experience as separate churches takes place as Lifestream Worship Center Norwalk and New Life Center Harbor City merge to become one church in two locations. With Pastor Ken Bringas as the senior pastor, the church reclaims its original identity and purpose by returning to the name New Life
