In 1982, Pastor Thel Bringas launched New Life Calvary Chapel in Los Angeles in a home that became known as the House on Gramercy Place. The church started when a whole Los Angeles gang chose to disband the gang in order to follow Christ.
Lifestream Norwalk launches its first daughter church, Lifestream Southbay, in Carson, California pastored by Ken Bringas.
Lifestream Southbay merges with Gateway Fellowship in Harbor City, CA and becomes New Life Center.
Pastor Thel retires from over 30 years of pastoral ministry since the founding of New Life and Lifestream. A beautiful celebration is held on his 70th birthday to honor his many years of service to the Lord.
The convergence of all of these streams of unique history and experience as separate churches takes place as Lifestream Worship Center Norwalk and New Life Center Harbor City merge to become one church in two locations. With Pastor Ken Bringas as the senior pastor, the church reclaims its original identity and purpose by returning to the name New Life.
